Georgia Teacher of the Year Shares Experiences with Education Students

Ernie Lee was a real estate lawyer who suffered economically during the recession several years ago.

He decided to return to a passion from earlier in life and enter the classroom as a International Baccalaureate History, U.S. Government and Civics teacher in Savannah. He is this year's Georgia Teacher of the Year.

Recently, Dalton State School of Education students spent the day learning from Lee.

Lee shared practices used in today's classroom, as well as a motivational speech to the school's graduates in a career launch ceremony.

Lee listened to student presentations on their experiences as a student teachers and experiences while studying abroad in Costa Rica.

Students were able to participate in a question and answer session with Lee.

Students also discussed the teaching profession one-on-one with Lee.

Dalton State's School of Education graduates are given opportunities like these to ensure they are prepared to enter their careers as teachers.
